Position title: PhD Student
Kailee is a PhD student studying Nuclear Engineering here at UW Madison. Previously, she studied chemical engineering and chemistry at DePaul University, where she was involved with the spectroscopic investigation of reversible CO2 capture using metal-free adducts.
Here at the MADCOR Lab, Kailee’s research concentration will be on the corrosion rate and mechanism of molten salts on nuclear reactor alloys. She is excited to apply her background in electrochemical techniques in a materials science context and even more excited to be working towards a future of cleaner energy.
In her free time, Kailee enjoys entertaining her cat, Basil, attempting to not ignore the sourdough starter in her fridge, and getting outside. She firmly believes that the grocery store IS a fashion runway and can often be found wearing things she’s created.
